If you read about all the activity of economic boom in Putnam County, you know the West side of the county is what all the buzz is about. The Highlands Industrial Park is taking shape as we welcome Academy Sports + Outdoors with their 1.6 million sq ft distribution center and Ficosa’s 270,000 sq ft production facility of automotive parts. The new I-40 interchange at Mine Lick Creek Road at mile marker 282 will connect to HWY 70, which will take more customers to my beloved Dipsy Doodle Restaurant.
Whether you’re local or new in town, you really must Do The Dipsy Doodle On The West Side!!
This beloved restaurant is located at 2331 West Broad Street and is home of the “Giant Burger and Mile High Pies!” I love to stop by when my business leads me to the west side of the county. This is becoming more frequent as more buyers want to be on this side of Cookeville or in Baxter. It’s relaxing to sit at the bar (non-alcholic) to watch a little FOX News and to eat my Cheeseburger and Krinkle Cut Fries. The Doodle is the perfect place to chillax because none of the patrons seem to be in a hurry. AHHH! Just a little breather in the middle of the day where the staff is friendly and inviting.
The West Side of Putnam County is growing but there are still many scenic private places that you can make home. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find you want to Do The Doodle, too!
