Millennials have officially outgrown the generation of Baby Boomers occurring post World War II, making them the largest generation in history.
They also have an undeserved bad reputation being often described as narcissists, self-centered, and technology absorbed. But does this generation really deserve this bad reputation? Honestly, I’m just mad about millennials!
Millennials have grown up in the midst of unresolved war conflicts, terrorism, and a recession. They have witnessed all of these events by turning on their television or opening an app on their cell phones. Researchers have shown that the Millennials are the most educated regarding events of today, in comparison to past generations. Their education stems from the use of the technology of their generation.
Some people are nervous for the Millennials to become our world leaders, but they are more than ready to take on the challenge. This generation knows the importance of a getting a college degree and the importance of an education to achieve their employment goals. Millennials know their way around a computer and the Internet, which comes in handy in regards to employment. Currently, employers require computer experience and knowledge of social media. The use of social media is the current marketing trend and this is something this generation knows all about!
Millennials are getting college degrees, marrying later, learning the importance of hard work, and teaching Generation X, their parents, how to navigate around their multiple social media websites.
Let them post a selfie if they want. They are teaching Generation X to get the best angle in selfies AND a new angle on LIFE! While some of them are staying in their parents’ basements, they are cocooned in there ready to emerge and conquer the world!
